Natio Acne Clear Pores detoxifying face scrub with jojoba beads review

from the beautyheaven website because I finished mine last year

This face scrub from Natio is part of the acne solutions range that came out last year I think, and since I generally have a favourable view of Natio's skincare products I figured I’d try a product. The line has 2 moisturizers, a cleanser, a scrub and a spot treatment. I was in need of an exfoliator, so I got this face scrub. I can't remember how much it cost but the Natio website puts it at 12.95 for 100g.

To begin with, this face scrub isn't just gentle, it's kind of weak. There weren't a lot of beads in my scrub, and they were tiny and didn't exfoliate much anyway. I have slightly sensitive skin, and i'm pretty sure I could have gotten away with using this daily. I used it every two days and felt fine, no redness, no raw feeling etc. I didn't mind the herbally scent and it honestly wasn't that strong,

In terms of the cleaning feeling, it was one of those nice cleansers that don't feel like your face has been stripped, but still feels clean. However i didn't feel like this did anything to my acne, it definitely didn't clear my acne and it didn’t feel like it was clearing my skin, although i think i had slightly less oil on my face while using this.

The supposed active ingredient is the Tamanu oil, which is meant to be calming so I honestly don’t feel like this was formulated to do anything much other than be a calming scrub, which to me shouldn’t be in an acne range. Salicylic acid is the 8th product, followed by the Tamanu seed oil, but I think the concentration of the salicylic acid must not have been enough for me because I felt like this product really didn’t have much of an effect on my face other than cleaning the surface.

I found the ingredients list on the Natio website (finished my bottle last year)
Aqua (Water), Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Stearic Acid, Decyl Glucoside, Glyceryl Stearate, Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Salicylic Acid, Calophyllum Inophyllum (Tamanu) Seed Oil, Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Seed Extract, Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Zinc Sulphate, Glycerin, Methylisothiazolinone, Benzisothiazolinone, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil.

In summary, nothing spectacular, nothing bad, unless you want an actual exfoliator. I used this product alone so maybe if I used them in conjunction or used a higher strength one I would have seen an effect, but this scrub alone, doesn't really scrub anything off.

Effectiveness: 5/10
Feel: 6/10
Packaging: 7/10
